#HowDoYouDuo: 2020 World Barista Championship Finalist Mikael Jasin

Mikael Jasin is making pour over coffee with the Tornado Duo.

We were honored to be joined by Brewista All-Star Mikael Jasin at World of Coffee Athens this year. As a coffee entrepreneur extraordinaire, he is the co-founder of CATUR Coffee Company and founder of So, So Good Coffee Company. He is also the 2019 and 2020 Indonesian Barista Champion and a finalist in the 2020 World Barista Championship. While at World of Coffee, Mikael shared his very own pour over recipe using the Tornado Duo.

Tornado Duo Recipe:

  • Add filter to the dripper and pre-wet
  • Measure 20g Washed Geisha coffee
  • Finely grind the coffee (28 clicks on the grinder). Add coffee grounds to the filter.
  • Warm 290g of water to 93°C/ 199.4°F
  • Pour 50g of water into the dripper until 45 seconds to allow coffee to bloom 
  • 1st pulse: 150g of water, finish at 1:10
  • 2nd pulse: 90g of water, finish at 1:50
  • 2:15-2:30 total time
